KIDS-CO
"Kids" means that this community is centered on children. Children are the bond that binds a family.Individual organizations become families and countless families form communities. Paying attention to children can activate the community.
"Co" can be “cohesion, coalesce, or cooperation, codesign”, which means that this child-friendly multi-dimensional community can "stitch" and "connect" the "fracture zone" of the Phoenix Valley unit.
KIDS-CO is a multi-layered community prototype that transforms a fragmented urban-rural fault line into a child-centered, ecologically regenerative neighborhood. Rooted in the principles of barrier-free design and inspired by the “curb cut effect,” the project reorganizes circulation systems to prioritize safe, independent journeys for children while seamlessly integrating residential, educational, and green spaces. By layering underground farming, community service cores, elevated green parks, and interconnected public realms, KIDS-CO fosters playful exploration, social cohesion, and ecological healing. Through its dynamic spatial strategies, it envisions a resilient, inclusive urban future driven by children's needs and daily experiences.
